Since 1988, PWN has honored one member each year for their contribution to the organization. This award is given to a member who has held a leadership position in PWN; exemplifies our motto "Women Helping Women;" participates in events and continues to promote PWN. 
 
This year’s PWN member works comfortably and confidently behind the scenes with her solid, motivating, yet thoughtful leadership style.  She has proven to be a member we can all rely on to do whatever it takes to do the job well.  She views a situation from several sides, carefully considering the impact of a decision on the entire PWN membership. 
 
In her fifth year of membership, she has served in numerous capacities throughout PWN.  In 2009 alone she has lent her time and talents to three different PWN committees, Special Events, Community Outreach and the Program committee as well as serving on the Board of Directors.   She generously supports PWN financially and is pivotal in assisting PWN obtain sponsorships and outside donations for events.   
 
She thoughtfully encourages other women from her company to attend PWN events and provides public relations for PWN by publicizing key events to a large audience of women within her company. 
 
In her spare time she has taken up ½ marathons and enjoys gardening, photography and donating her time to her church and local Center Point school system. We are very honored to present the PWN Founder’s “Woman of the Year” award to Laura Scharosch.
